Right now, everyone is talking about COVID-19 and it is disrupting the way people live, things are uncertain and feel out of control. With social distancing, school closures and event cancellations, many people have experienced negative emotional stress states leading to feelings of powerlessness, fear, and panic.
Fear and anxiety are part of a normal response to COVID-19. Anxiety is our friend, our protector, warning us of potential danger.
Are you or a loved one struggling to manage anxiety or stress?
Your perspective can victimize you or empower you, therefore you must learn to adjust your attitude and adopt a mindset that helps you manage through times of change. The key is to make fear and anxiety work for us instead of against us.
Many of us strive to live our lives with positivity and health but maintaining good mental health. Why is no one talking about what we can do to build up our immune system from the inside? Because healing is an inside job. You have to understand your health comes from the inside.
It always has, and it always will. It’s human nature to want a quick fix and to try to make someone else responsible for your health, but in the end, you’re the only one who can make yourself healthy or sick. So, rather than hoarding toilet paper and face masks, you need to build up your health from the inside, and that is more empowering to protect yourself and your family.
Today I have 7 Tips To Stay Healthy During The COVID-19 Pandemic
Tips:
1) Exercise
— Get 30 minutes of moderate exercise every day.
— Moderate exercise can help manage stress, boost the immune system, and improve energy levels.
— Take a 30-minute brisk walk or bicycle ride, play a sports game, work in your yard, do yoga or pilates.
2) Eat healthily food
— Nurture your diet. Nutrition is linked to your immune system directly.
— Drink an extra 2 glasses of water per day (on top of what you already drink).
— Eat one more fruit and one more vegetable per day.
— Stop eating fried food, foods with added sugars, and replace white grains with whole grains.
3) Stop smoking
— Cigarette smoke suppresses the immune system. Smoking irritates the lungs.
— Reducing or stopping all smoking is ideal for your health.
4) Cut back on alcohol
— Alcohol even reduces the function of your immune cells in your lungs.
5) Get enough sleep
— Science says 7–8 hours per night is needed for optimal health.
— Deficient sleep not only increases the chances of you getting sick, but it also prolongs your recovery.
6) Meditate
— Meditate for even 5 minutes a day. There’s more benefit to daily short meditation than an occasional hour-long meditation.
— Keep it simple. Sit quietly and comfortably and play some gentle background music or white noise.
7) Don’t panic, be healthy
— We have a lot of unknown right now, and we are all in this together.
— Being mindful of our mental and physical health has never been more crucial.
